What Should Employers Know About the Back to Work Fund?

As of April 1, 2024, employers who invoke medical force majeure to terminate the employment contract must notify the RIZIV (National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance) and then deposit a contribution of €1,800 into the Back to Work Fund.

Within 45 days of the termination date of the employment contract due to medical force majeure initiated by you as the employer, you must notify the RIZIV of this termination.

From April 1, 2025, employees and job seekers who have been unable to work for more than a year can also appeal to the Back to Work Fund.

What to Do as an Employee When Facing Dismissal Due to Medical Force Majeure?

1. Choose an accredited service provider. The application can be found on the RIZIV website: Back to Work Fund | RIZIV (fgov.be)

If you choose Right Management, make sure to mention us in your application.

2. Submit your application form to request your specific voucher from the RIZIV, worth €1,800, within six months of the contract termination date.

3. You will hear back within 45 days whether your application has been approved. Your voucher will be valid for six months.

Our Tailored, Personalized Coaching Designed Specifically for You

We offer a tailored, individual program of three months. If no job is secured after three months, the program can be extended upon your request by another three months (totaling six months). The program includes 30 hours of coaching, combining individual sessions with a personal career coach, workshops, access to a digital career platform, and digital logistical and administrative support.

Our guidance starts with a personal orientation meeting with a specialized and dedicated coach. This meeting provides an opportunity to get to know each other and understand your needs and unique situation. During this session, we explain our approach through examples and practical insights. We aim to build a trusting relationship with you and support you in achieving your goals. We present our approach through a five-step plan, which is adjusted to your pace and needs.
